Chocko Valliappa Highlights Budget 2026’s Focus on AI-Driven Skilling and Education-Led Growth

Chocko Valliappa, CEO & MD of Vee Technologies, has stated that Union Budget 2026 lays emphasis on integrating technology across sectors to enable inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Chocko points out that the budget’s approach to technology adoption is designed to support a wide range of stakeholders, including farmers, women, and young professionals. He noted that the emphasis on embedding digital capabilities across industries is intended to increase participation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing) fields, expand access to emerging opportunities, and equip the workforce with skills relevant to the evolving economy.

He also drew attention to the increased allocation for the education sector, highlighting that the budgeted expenditure represents a significant year-on-year rise. He observed that the enhanced focus on education signals a recognition of its role in strengthening India’s long-term economic and innovation capacity.

Commenting on infrastructure for higher education, he described the proposal to establish university townships near major industrial and logistics corridors as a positive development. He noted that such clusters, bringing together universities, research institutions, and skill centres, could strengthen the link between education, industry, and employment.

Chocko added that states with strong manufacturing ecosystems and a high concentration of higher education institutions are well positioned to host these proposed university townships. He said this model could help create integrated education and innovation hubs that align academic output with industry demand.

Overall, he indicated that the budget’s focus on technology-enabled education and skilling reflects a broader intent to prepare India’s talent pool for emerging sectors, while ensuring that growth opportunities are distributed more evenly across regions and communities.
