I was. I replyed I was Indian. One of them thought I was American Indian. It was fascinating to re-live history and the huge faux pas commited by Christopher Columbus way back 700 years ago. Told them I'm a Indian from India. Another guy said how come you speak English, you don't speak Indian. Told them there was no language called Indian.
I was told by my friends that thanksgiving orginated when the -Indians helped pilgrims survive the winter. In return for their help the Pilgrims cooked a thanksgiving meal for the Indians.
This explanation was given 10 years ago. Lot of things happened in this span of time- the Y2K, internet and email came of age, so did the dot com, outsourcing and BPO. The world became a global village.
In these 10 years I set up joint venture between our college in Salem and NBCC for elearning and multi media. Vee Technologies was seeded in 1999 as a elearning company and grew up to be a BPO transaction company, today Vee is a leader in the transformational outsourcing in niche areas of Insurance, Healthcare, Logistics and Engineering services. Vee has grown to a multi site opperational company offering Six Sigma levels of quality in the $10 billion worth transaction.
